There are no official rankings of the over 250 public administration programs in the United States, but Florida State has consistently been ranked among the top 10% in informal polls. Founded in 1947, our MPA degree was one of the first in the nation to be accredited and continues to be fully accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration (NASPAA).
In an article published in 2005 in the Journal of Public Affairs Education , the Askew School faculty ranked 4 th nationally in numbers of refereed articles published in major public administration journals. Our students ranked third nationally. Earlier published studies of faculty publishing also tabulated us as ‘top ten' in frequency of refereed articles published. In 2012, a survey done by US News ranked the Askew School 16 th among more than 260 programs nationally in the general category of ‘public affairs.'
Many of our faculty members have received teaching awards. We seek to help our students become competent managers, capable analysts, and ultimately effective leaders who are committed to the values of integrity and public service.
